Beaches on Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island is famous for its soft sandy beaches and sparkling coastal waters. Whether you’re looking to relax under the sun, explore tidal pools, or take a refreshing swim, the island’s beaches offer something for everyone. With picturesque views, calm bays, and stretches of untouched shoreline, PEI’s beaches are the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the island’s natural beauty.

Panmure Island Beach

Panmure Island (10 min) is a stunning provincial white-sand beach stretching over a kilometre. Perfect for long walks. Life guards are on duty, as well as ice cream and food.

Basin Head Beach

Basin Head (57 min) is located just past Souris. Gorgeous white “singing” sands beach surrounds the old fishing wharf, where there is a swift current that many jump into from the wharf. Was rated the #1 beach in Canada.

Greenwich Beach

Greenwich (45 min) is a National Park. While there is a small cost to get in, it is worth the money. A picturesque boardwalk leads you through the tall sand dunes to a never-ending beach.

Little Harbour Beach

Little Harbour (53 min) is just past Souris. It is a real locals’ spot. Much quieter than the rest of the beaches on this list. It offers white sands, calm waves, and long walks with few people around to bother you.
